K.V. Johansen was born in Kingston Ontario and now resides in New Brunswick.  She writes fantasy for young adults and adults. K.V.'s published work includes a young adult fantasy called Torrie and the Dragon and a short story collection called The Serpent Bride. Her short story The Wastelands: A Beginning appeared in the fall 1997 issue of On Spec.
