Kim Coates was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. His SF credits include Waterworld, Unforgettable, Total Recall 2070 and X Change. He also starred in the box office bomb, Battlefield Earth based on the book Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the year 3000 by L. Ron Hubbard.. He played Carlo who is Jonnie Goodboy Tyler's best friend (played by fellow Canadian Barry Pepper) . Incidentally, the character Carlo was created for the movie and does not exist in the novel version. Kim has also appeared as a guest star on the TV series' The Outer Limits and Total Recall 2070.
